Fall festivals kick off this week-end.You have the Apple Festival in Ellijay, the Sorgum Festival in Blairsville, and the Harvest Sale in Blue Ridge. All are steeped in mountain folklore & tradition, with arts & crafts, and lots of good food.While searching for real estate these festivals create a great break for the family. Go to one or all, they are with-in a 40 mile radius.This is a good time to view homes & property,the leaves are revealing their true colors of red,yellow,orange,& brown mixed with evergreens to make nature's quilt for winter. Despite the media's gloom and doom forecast, property in the North Georgia Mountains is still selling. Not record breaking sales, but still selling. Valentine's Day has come and gone. Warm weather is just around the corner in the North Ga. mountains. This weekend was a great time to ride or walk the area's of Blue Ridge,Ga., Ellijay, Ga., or Blairsvile, Ga. Right now is the best time to see the lay of the land, no leaves to block your view. This Saturday, March 1st, 2008, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway kicks off the year. First train departs at 11:00 A.M. The railway runs beside the Toccoa River surrounded by the north georgia mountains on both sides. Destination, the Georgia-Tennessee line. This town is a old mining town half in Georgia, half in Tennessee. This rustic town is a great place to hunt for antiques & rustic treasures. Back to Blue Ridge to enjoy it's quaint downtown district which features shopping, antiques, food & more. Don't forget to contact me to help find your dream cabin or tract of land. I just wanted thank everyone for their support Friday. Our Grand Opening was a huge success. We had over 200 people attend, our celebration in Blue Ridge, Ga. We started the morning out with a ribbon cutting ceremonie, by the Chamber of Commerce. Rolled into noon with Mountain Country 103.9 FM, delivering some hot county music. BBQ,with all the fixings, and grilled hotdogs covered lunch, and a bounce house for the kids to play on. All-in-all it was a good time in the North Georgia Mountains. They are looking for the best price, quickest & easiest closing, and nothing else.99.9% of the time, you will need extra cash to bring the home up to par.Most buyer's aren't aware of this. Also, most buyer's want to attack the purchase as a normal buyer-seller transaction. Unfortunately, it's not. The mortgage companies do not have emotional ties, or care what the buyer's logic is. The ball is in their court. Mortgage companies have the "you can take it or leave it" attitude. The process can leave a bad taste with the buyer that lost a home to another buyer.
